The Pooles of Malmesbury

My Grandfather was Frederick Bruce Poole. He was the son of Denis Poole and Rosa (Nee Exton), born in Malmesbury in 1899.
Denis and Rosa's home was on the Lower High Street Kingswall. (Click on the photographer for old and modern images)

Their family tree going back to 1700 with William Poole and Esther Garrett in Tetbury Glos can be found here.
Poole Family Tree (Is an Adobe Acrobat pdf file). There is a larger tree expanding on the branches, but available only to members of the Poole 'clan'

He married Ada Pursglove in 1930 and the Pursglove family tree can be found at The Pursgloves of Sussex and London web site
My mother Brenda Poole and Uncle Henry George (Known to all as Harry) were the result of the marriage.
During the war, Ada and her childern were evacuated to Malmesbury, does anyone remember them?

Frederick had 4 brothers James Albert b:1876, Arthur b:1888, William Alfred b:1896 and Henry George b:c1891
A and 4 sisters Minnie Jane b:1877, Emily b: c1883, Eliza (Lizzie) b: c1886 and Evelyn Rose b:1893.(Known to all of us as Rose)

Arthur and William both emigrated to Canada

When my Grandmother passed away in the 1990's I was given her collection of photographs.
In this collection are pictures of the views of Malmesbury from the Gastons and Kingswall areas available via this link
Below are family pictures of Denis, Rosa with some of their children.

Does any of this 'ring a bell'? Are you one of my family tree or knew the family?

Please contact me at ;

The Myriorama Pooles

There are a Poole family who had a traveling show based in Malmesbury.
They came to Malmesbury from the Bath area

Joseph Poole becameMayor of Malmesbury.

I have found no connection to my line, but have built their tree to filter them out of the confusing jigsaw of the Poole's.
Their tree can be found here The Myriorama Pooles

If you are connected, there is a book entitled POOLES MYRIORAMA written by Hudson Powell.
He can be contacted via myself
And there is a website being created about them here Myriorama.co.uk
